Book with confidence - New flexible booking terms for travelling to Iceland
At Nordic Visitor, we are looking forward to a beautiful summer in Iceland and, as always, welcoming travellers from around the world to our amazing country.
We want you to have the utmost confidence in your holiday plans, so in light of the recent activity at the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, we are offering flexible booking terms in Iceland.
These terms apply to new bookings for Iceland holiday packages (for 9 persons or less) made between July 9th and July 20th, 2011 for arrivals between July 9, 2011 and September 30, 2011.
The new terms provide the following assurances:
• Flight delays to Iceland? No worries!
If your flight to Iceland is delayed, we will adjust your itinerary accordingly at no extra charge and give you a refund of payments for unused services.
• New itinerary within hours
If your holiday in Iceland is interrupted because of volcanic activity, we will refund any service that we are unable to provide. And thanks to our years of experience and excellent supplier relations, we can quickly create a new, interesting itinerary for you at no extra charge, enabling you to enjoy your holiday without undue stress.
• Change of travel dates or destinations
You may change your travel dates up until your expected time of arrival, with no questions asked. Moreover, until your expected arrival date you may also cancel your holiday to Iceland and instead use the amount that you paid towards another holiday in any of our other Nordic destinations. Please note that the original booking may only be changed once in such manner.
• You will not lose money
Our standard cancellation terms apply, but under the new terms you may use all non-refundable payments for cancelled tours as a down payment for a new holiday package in any of our destinations. Effectively, none of your money will be lost in the unfortunate event of having to cancel your holiday at any given time.
• Fully refundable deposits
Should you decide to cancel your holiday, we will refund your full deposit as long as the cancellation is made at least 1 week prior to your planned arrival date. Cancellation requests must be made in writing, either by email or fax.
Why are we able to offer you such a flexible booking terms?
Volcanic activity has always been a common occurence in Iceland, with an eruption occurring in the country every few years. As a well-established travel agency with a main office in Reykjavík, Nordic Visitor has plenty of experience operating holidays in Iceland and dealing with the occasional volcanic eruptions.
We know each of our destinations inside out, so we know how safe it really is to travel around Iceland. We also maintain good relations with all of our suppliers, creating mutual trust and a willingness to cooperate, which enables us to offer the best service available to our customers.
" There were some complications due to the volcano and our itinerary changed, but we had no problems. It was excellent having the cell phone* and we felt comfortable knowing that if things needed to be changed, they would be. Thank you for making our honeymoon stress-free. We will use you again in the future."
Brian & Raegan May (USA) –April 2010
The Mays visited Iceland in April 2010 with Nordic Visitor’s Express Iceland self-drive package. Shortly before their arrival, a section of the highway on the south coast was damaged by volcanic activity, so within hours, their dedicated Travel Consultant was able to rearrange their itinerary, allowing the Mays to see as much as possible and make the most of their special vacation—without stress.
*All Nordic Visitor self-drive customers are given a complimentary cell phone with local coverage for additional peace of mind while travelling.
