It´s lonely at the top
Iceland named best value destination by Lonely Planet guide book. Of course we knew it already, but it´s always good to be reassured. Lonely Planet, the world´s largest travel guide book publisher, has included Iceland on its top 10 list of best value destinations for 2010. The list appears in Lonely Planet´s recently published book; Best in Travel 2010. Along with London, Iceland is probably the most surprising addition to a group of perennial contestants like Thailand, Mexico and India.
Iceland has always been a land of extremes, and just as fire and Ice keep battling it out in the nature, the fluctuations of the Icelandic Króna seem to be no exception to the rule. A few years back, Iceland was among the most expensive places to visit. Now, after the local currency´s plunge, due to the financial crisis, Iceland is cheaper than ever.
At Nordic Visitor we take great pride in promoting Iceland as a travel destination, offering a vast selection of different tours to this magnificent island in the North. Therefore, we are very happy to see Iceland being included more often as one of the world´s top value destinations. But then again, it can be lonely at the top, so please take a look at our offers for 2010 and pay us a visit.
