Then, you can drive through the wonderful Jökulsárgljúfur - a part of Vatnajökull National Park, visiting sites such as the canyon Ásbyrgi and the most powerful waterfall in Europe, Dettifoss. End the day by relaxing in the Mývatn Nature Baths and enjoy bathing in a pool of geothermal water drawn from depths of up to 2,500 meters, where in summer you can experience the midnight sun and in winter the dancing northern lights. A perfect way to end your day could be an evening walk on the golden beach by the hotel overlooking the glacier, sea and vast-lava field, followed by a gourmet meal at Hotel Búðir. Stay the night at charming Hotel Búðir. Driving distance approx. 350 km / 217 mi.

Day 9: Snæfellsjökull National Park and Snæfellsjökull Glacier

It is ideal to drive around the peninsula, passing Dritvík Cove, Lóndrangar Cliffs as well as Hellnar and Arnarstapi Cliffs with its bursting bird-life and the small villages on the coast. You might wish to test your strength at the stones of the black volcanic beach of Djúpalónssandur like the seamen in past times. On Snæfellsnes, you can choose from a variety of actitivities such as horse riding, hiking, taking a boat-cruise (in summer) or simply relax and take in the glacier’s alleged supernatural energy. Stay in a Jr. Suite at a luxury hotel in Reykjavik.

OR

Day 9: Reykholt, trolls and waterfalls
Today, explore the west of Iceland. Sights include the Icelandic Settlement centre exhibition at the village of Borgarnes and the largest hot spring in Europe, Deiltartunguhver. On your way back to Reykjavik you can get acquainted with the troll women Drifa at Fossatún overlooking a waterfall. Stay in a Jr. Suite at a luxury hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 10: Home Sweet Home
Our chauffeur will transport you to Keflavík International Airport for your flight back home. If your flight is in the afternoon, you can stop at the Blue Lagoon and even take a little tour of the Reykjanes peninsula (optional for an extra charge). As you fly home, your head exploding with rich images and stories, you can’t help but wonder; when can I come back? - Whenever you’re ready to return, we’re here to make it happen!
