Itinerary

Day 1: A Warm Welcome to Iceland
On arrival in Keflavík airport, you will be met by your private chauffeur who will transfer you to Reykjavík. You will be free for the rest of the day to explore Reykjavik, visit museums, landmarks and such. Downtown Reykjavík offers a plethora of excellent restaurants, cafés, bars and clubs, for those who want to experience the renowned Reykjavík nightlife. Stay overnight at the Reykjavik Centrum Hotel or a similar superior hotel in central Reykjavík.

Highlights: Reykjavik

Day 2: King Winter’s Domain
Your private driver-guide will pick up from your hotel in the morning to the amazing “Golden Circle”. Visit the beautiful Þingvellir National Park, before heading to the great Geysir area, home of the original “Geyser”. Close to Geysir we will find the two-tiered, Gullfoss waterfall, often called Icelandic tourism’s star attraction, which is especially majestic in the wintertime. From Gullfoss, we will take you to a geothermal heated greenhouse in Reykholt, where you can see how Icelanders grow their fruit and vegetables over the winter. You will then be taken to the south coast, where you will have an exquisite dinner and stay overnight at Hotel Rangá, a luxury resort offering views to Mt. Hekla, the Mýrdalsjökull glacier and the Westman Islands on a clear day. The resort also offers geothermal hot tubs for their guests, where they can sit under the arctic sky and gaze at the Northern Lights when conditions are favourable.

Highlights: Þingvellir National Park, Gullfoss, Geysir, Reykholt, Kerið and Northern Ligths.

Day 3: The South Coast Sensation
Visit the charming Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls in Skógar, where you will also find a folk museum with many interesting artefacts on display. From Skógar we will take you to the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, where you can enjoy an optional glacier-hike. Experience the stunning black volcanic sand beach south of Vík and the Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar rock formations before heading back to Hotel Rangá in the late afternoon.

Highlights: Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Skógar Museum, Mýrdalsjökull glacier, Reynisfjara, Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar.

Day 4: Departure with a Twist

We will leave Hotel Rangá in the morning for a trip to the tranquil Lake Kleifarvatn and the moon-like Krýsuvík area, where you can see hot springs and bubbling mud pots. You will then be taken to the last stop before departure, the Blue Lagoon spa, set in a magical black lava field. It is rich in silica and blue-green algae, which gives the lagoon its reputed healing powers. The lagoon provides a wonderful last memorable taste of Iceland, and ensures that you are fully unwound and relaxed when taken to Keflavik International airport in time for your check-in.

Highlights: Lake Kleifarvatn, Krýsuvík and the Blue Lagoon.
