Itinerary

Day 1: A Warm Welcome to Iceland
Upon arrival at Keflavik Intn Airport, your private chauffeur will await you and take you to your hotel in Reykjavik. You will be free for the rest of the day to explore Reykjavik, visit museums, landmarks and such. Downtown Reykjavík offers a plethora of excellent restaurants, cafés, bars and clubs, for those who want to experience the renowned Reykjavík nightlife. Stay overnight at a hotel or guesthouse in central Reykjavík.

Day 2: Reykjavik City Sightseeing and the Northern Lights
Start the day with a guided tour of the city of Reykjavík. The tour provides a detailed and comprehensive introduction to Reykjavík’s past and present where Reykjavik’s main attractions are highlighted. You will have the afternoon free at your leisure. If weather-conditions are favourable, you will experience northern lights hunt out of the city in the evening. The Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis—are a spectacular natural phenomena, usually only visible over the polar regions of the Earth. The swirling, colourful displays are truly an unforgettable sight to behold. 

Highlights: Hallgrímskirkja Church, Perlan, Höfði, Alþingi, Laugardalur, village of Hafnafjörður, presidential residence at Bessastaðir.
Activities: Guided Reykjavik city sightseeing tour and Guided Northern Lights bus tour.   

Day 3: The Golden Circle
Visit many of Iceland’s biggest attractions on the classic “Golden Circle” route on this fantastic guided bus tours. Visit the stunning Þingvellir National Park, listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and a site of immense beauty. Continue to the beautiful two-tiered waterfall Gullfoss and from there to the geothermal area around the incredible spouting hot springs of Geysir and Strokkur. We proceed to Skálholt church, the ancient seat of the Icelandic bishops. On our way back we travel through fertile agricultural areas to Hveragerði, a small and charming horticultural village.

Highlights: Þingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir area, Skálholt church and village of Hveragerði.

Day 4: Majestic Waterfalls and Black Beaches
This tour takes you along the beautiful south shore of Iceland all the way to the village of Vík and back. We start with the picturesque Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Seljalandsfoss is 40 meters high and its main attraction, besides the scenery, is the fact that there is a pathway leading behind the waterfall and out the other side, giving visitors a chance to view the falls from within. The tour will also take you to the black volcanic sand beach south of Vík, Iceland’s southernmost village, to view the spectacular rock formations Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar. The last stop before heading back to Reykjavik is the graceful, 60 meters high Skógafoss waterfall.

Day 5: Day at Leisure
Today is a free day. Go on an optional excursion or simply enjoy the city. Downtown Reykjavík offers a plethora of spas and swimming-pools, shops, museums and galleries, excellent restaurants, cafés, bars and clubs, for those who want to experience the renowned Reykjavík nightlife. Today would be ideal to try out the Icelandic horse or go whale-watching when in season.

Day 6: Departure with a Twist
Today, you will be picked up and taken to the Blue Lagoon geothermal seawater spa. It is rich in silica and blue-green algae, which gives the lagoon its reputed healing powers. Relaxing in-water massages are available, but guests can also unwind in the saunas and steam baths or get a natural massage under the Blue Lagoon waterfall. The spa provides a wonderful last memorable taste of Iceland, and ensures that you are fully unwound and rejuvinated when taken to Keflavik International airport in time for an afternoon check-in. (Note: If your flight is in the morning, we’ll change your travel itinerary accordingly).

Accommodation Details

We have three categories for accommodation on this tour: Budget, Comfort and Quality.

Budget

Rooms without private facilities. These are in country hotels, farmhouses and guesthouses. Some of these have washbasins in the rooms and all provide breakfast (included in the price). In the more remote areas, most places of accommodation offer optional evening meals.


Comfort

Rooms with private shower or bath and WC. These are in hotels or well-appointed guesthouses. All provide breakfast (included in the price) and most have their own restaurant.


Quality

Rooms with private shower or bath and WC. These are in the best hotels available at each location. All hotels provide breakfast (included in the price) and have their own restaurant.

Best months to experience the Northern Lights are October through April every year, with peak visibility from December through February. Please note, as the Northern Lights are natural phenomena, we cannot guarantee sightings even if the tour is operated.
