This package is suitable for those who want to explore the greater ring-road, including the beautiful West Fjords. The drive takes you to most of the biggest attractions in Iceland including Þingvellir National Park, Skaftafell National Park, Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, Dettifoss waterfall, the West Fjords and more. This package includes accommodation in Reykjavík and all over Iceland.
Day 1: Arrival/Reykjavík
Upon arrival in Keflavik, you will be met by your private chauffeur who will welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation in Reykjavík. After settling in, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the vibrant capital at you own pace. Stay in a hotel or guesthouse in Reykjavík.

Day 2: Gullfoss and Geysir
Travel to some of the best-known natural phenomena in Iceland, including the beautiful Þingvellir National Park. This romantic park, which has been nominated as a UNESCO world heritage site, is an ancient assembly site of the Vikings and is set in the picturesque area of vast lava fields, a tranquil lake and deep gorges. Continue to the great Geysir area with its spouting Geysers and colorful hot springs and the Gullfoss waterfall, “The Golden Waterfall”. Stay in a hotel or guesthouse in Hvolsvöllur area. Driving distance approx. 250 km / 155 mi. 
Highlights: Þingvellir National Park, Geysir, Gullfoss and volcanic crater Kerið.
Day 3: The South Coast
Drive via the fertile farmlands of the south coast. Sights along the way include the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, the rock formations of Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar on the black sand beach south of Vík, glacier Mýrdalsjökull and the village Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Stay in a hotel or guesthouse in or around Kirkjubæjarklaustur/Skaftafell National Park. Driving distance approx. 220 km / 137 mi.
Highlights: Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Vík, Dyrhólaey, Canyon Fjaðrárgljúfur and Kirkjubæjarklaustur.
Optional activities: Glacier hike at Mýrdalsjökull.
Day 4: Skaftafell and Vatnajökull Glacier
Spend the day taking in the many sights of Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park and Vatnajökull glacier, Europe’s largest glacier. There are many interesting hiking trails in Skaftafell National Park, including a short hike to the beautiful Svartifoss waterfall, which drops from the edge of a wide cliff of basalt columns. Stay in a hotel or guesthouse in or around Skaftafell National Park/Höfn area.
Highlights: Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park.
Optional activities: Ice-climbing or glacier-walk from Skaftafell, quad biking, kayaking or bird-watching tour with hey-cart to cape Ingólfshöfði.
Day 5: Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon and East Fjords
Start the day by heading east to the Glacial Lagoon Jökulsárlón, where in summer you can enjoy a boat ride between the glacier-calves. Drive the amazing east-fjords characterized by tranquil fishing-villages, rugged tundra and sweeping landscapes. Stay in a hotel or guesthouse in the Egilsstaðir area. Driving distance approx. 345 km / 214 mi.
Highlights: Mt. Búlandstindur, Djúpivogur, Möðrudalsöræfi, Petra´s Mineral Collection, Egilsstaðir, Hallormsstaðaskógur.
Day 6: Egilsstaðir
Once you have traversed the eastern fjords and moorlands, prepare to be amazed by the unique, natural beauty of Lake Mývatn and surroundings. You’ll take in the lunar landscapes of Námaskarð Pass, the Skútustaðagígar pseudocraters and the Dimmuborgir lava formations, as well as visiting Mt. Krafla, one of Iceland’s most interesting volcanoes. In the late afternoon, it is ideal to visit the amazing Mývatn Nature Baths, a perfect way to rejuvenate after enjoyable day . Stay in the area of Lake Mývatn. Driving distance approx. 165 km / 102 mi.

Optional activities: Bathing in Mývatn Nature Baths.
Day 7: Lake Mývatn and Jökulsárgljúfur National Park
Explore the surroundings of Lake Mývatn and surroundings. In summer you can start the day with an optional whale-watching trip from ‘the whale watching capital of Europe’, Húsavík. Drive through the wonderful Jökulsárgljúfur - a part of Vatnajökull National Park, visiting sites such as the canyon Ásbyrgi and the most powerful waterfall in Europe, Dettifoss. Stay the night in the Lake Mývatn area. Driving distance approx. 200 km / 124 mi.
Highlights: Lake Mývatn, Húsavík, Ásbyrgi, Jökulsárgljúfur and Dettifoss.
Optional activities: Guided Super-Jeep Tours, Whale-watching (in summer), snow-mobiling and activities on the frozen lake Mývatn (in winter).
Day 8: Explore the ‘capital of the north’
Spend the first half of the day around Lake Mývatn. Visit Goðafoss on your way to Akureyri, the friendly ‘capital of the north’. The town offers interesting shops and museums and in winter the best skiing area in the country. Spend the night in Akureyri or Varmahlíð area. Driving distance approx. 200 km / 124 mi.
Highlights: Goðafoss and Akureyri.
Day 9: Northwest Iceland
Drive to the tranquil and rural West Fjords of Iceland. Sights along the way include the countless mounds of Vatnsdalshólar, Borgarvirki natural fortress and Glaumbær folk museum in summer. The Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft museum in Hólmavík and the Sorcerer´s Cottage is well worth the visit as well as a dip in the hot natural pools in Drangsnes to meet the locals. Stay in a hotel or guesthouse in the Hólmavík area. Driving distance approx. 250 km / 155 mi.
Highlights: Vatnsdalshólar, Borgarvirki, Glaumbær folk museum (summer) and Drangsnes.

Day 10: Ísafjörður
Today is a drive characterized by dramatic fjords and towering mountains in one of the most remote regions of Iceland. Explore Ísafjörður and the surrounding area, but Ísafjörður is the biggest settlement in the West Fjords. There you‘ll find some of the oldest houses in Iceland, dating back to the mid-18th century. Highlights: Ísafjörður, Neðstikaupstaður, Ósvör maritime museum in Bolungarvík. Stay in Ísafjörður. Driving distance approx. 220 km / 137 mi.
Optional activities: Horse-riding and bathing in hot natural pool (all year). Boat tour to Vigur Island and kayaking in the fjords from Ísafjörður(summer only).
Day 11: The West Fjords
Drive to the spectacular fjord Dýrafjörður, the trail of the Viking Saga Gisli Súrsson and where you can visit “Skrúður” the oldest botanical garden in Iceland. Drive to Hrafnseyri, where you can visit a museum dedicated to Jón Sigurðsson, hero of Iceland’s battle for independence. Next up is the impressive Dynjandi waterfall in the bottom of the fjord Arnarfjörður, before heading to the spectacular 14-km-long, 444-m-high cliff of Látrabjarg, the westernmost point of Europe. At Látrabjarg, get up close to some of the millions of inhabiting birds such as puffins and razorbills when in season. The hotel for the night is situated in the colourful Breiðavík Bay. Driving distance approx. 220 km / 137 mi.
Highlights: Mt. Kaldbakur, Dynjandi, Hrafnseyri and Látrabjarg cliffs.
Day 12: Snæfellsnes Peninsula and Snæfellsjökull Glacier
Today, you can visit the golden beach of Rauðisandur and even relax in a natural hot pool at Vatnsfjörður nature reserve before taking the ferry Baldur over the massive fjord of Breiðafjörður. Arrive at the charming village of Stykkishólmur on the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Experience the unique Snæfellsjökull glacier and the surrounding Snæfellsjökull National Park. Other worthwhile sights include Búðir, Hellnar, Arnarstapi and Dritvík cove. Stay in a hotel or guesthouse in Snæfellsnes. Driving distance approx. 110 km / 68 mi.

Day 13: West Iceland
Today, explore the west of Iceland. Sights include the Icelandic Settlement centre exhibition at the village of Borgarnes and and the largest hot spring in Europe, Deiltartunguhver. Continue up to the beautiful Hraunfossar waterfalls, where the clean spring water descentes from the lava-field to the river. You can visit the medieval research institution Sorrastofa at Reykholt, where Snorri Sturluson wrote the Saga Heimskringla in the 13th century. On your way back to Reykjavik you can get aquanted with the the troll women Drifa at Fossatún overlooking a waterfall. Stay in a hotel or guesthouse in Reykjavík. Driving distance approx. 250 km / 155 mi.
Day 14: Departure
Transfer to Keflavik with FlyBus. If your flight is in the afternoon, you can stop at the Blue Lagoon or even take a little tour of the Reykjanes peninsula (optional for an extra charge).
