This guided tour is ideal for visitors looking for a comfortable yet active in-depth winter tour to Iceland. This tour is guided by a professional local guide, who takes you to many of the biggest attractions in Iceland including Þingvellir National Park, the Great Geysir, Gullfoss Waterfall, Lake Mývatn, Dettifoss waterfall and more. In the darker winter months (Oct – March), the Northern Lights are not an uncommon sight at Lake Mývatn in favourable weather conditions. The tour includes accommodation in Reykjavík and by Lake Mývatn.
Day 1: Arrival/Reykjavík
On arrival at Keflavík Airport, you’ll be met by your private chauffeur and transferred to Reykjavik. The rest of the day is open to explore Reykjavik, visit museums, landmarks and such. Downtown Reykjavík offers a plethora of excellent restaurants, cafés, bars and clubs, for those who want to experience the renowned Reykjavík nightlife. Overnight at the Reykjavik Centrum Hotel or a similar high-end hotel in Reykjavík.

Day 2: The Golden Circle
Pick up from your hotel in the morning for a guided super-jeep tour of the “Golden Circle”. Visit the beautiful Þingvellir National Park, before heading to the great Geysir area, home of the original “Geyser”. Close to Geysir we find the two-tiered, icebound Gullfoss waterfall, which is especially majestic in the wintertime. End the tour by visiting Langjökull glacier, Europe’s second largest, before heading back to Reykjavik, where you will overnight.

Day 3: North Iceland
Take a 45-minute flight from Reykjavik Domestic Airport to Akureyri, “the capital of the north”, where you are welcomed by your friendly chauffeur. He’ll take you to the charming Goðafoss waterfall on your way to Lake Mývatn where you check-in at your hotel. You will enjoy taking a dip in the healing Lake Mývatn Nature Baths before going on a search for the northern light and enjoying a nice dinner at your hotel.

Day 4: Lake Mývatn
Today, you will enjoy a guided tour to see the highlights of the mesmerizing Lake Mývarn surroundings. You’ll visit sizzling mud pools at the boiling mud-pots at Námafjall, Dimmuborgir lava-field and the pseudo-craters at Skútustaðir , to name a few. In the evening, you might wish to have an evening-walk by the lake as you enjoy an evening viewing of the Northern Lights if weather conditions are favourable.

Day 5: Back to Reykjavik
Today you’ll be taken to the village of Akureyri for a sightseeing tour in the old town before checking-in at Akureyri domestic airport. Take an early afternoon flight back to the city of Reykjavik. You have rest of the day at your own leisure, to do some shopping and exploring the city at your own pace.

Day 6: South Shore Sensation
Today, you will experience a thrilling 4x4 adventure to the beautiful south. Visit the graceful Seljalandsfoss where the sure-footed can walk behind the cascade and the impressive waterfall Skógafoss at Skógar. Experience the stunning black volcanic sand beach south of Vík and the Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar rock formations. Weather conditions permitting, you will have the opportunity to experience snowmobiling, dog-sledding, a guided glacial hike or riding Icelandic horses. These activities are not included in the tour price but can be added on request or on location.

Day 7: Blue Lagoon and Departure
Private transfer in the morning for your last stop before departure, the Blue Lagoon geothermal seawater spa, set in a magical black lava field. It is rich in silica and blue-green algae, which give the lagoon its reputed healing powers. The lagoon provides a wonderful, last experience of Iceland and ensures that you are fully unwound and relaxed when taken to Keflavik international airport in time for your check-in.
