  • Day 1: Welcome to Reykjavík

On arrival at Keflavik Airport, you will be met by a driver and transferred to your accommodation in Reykjavik. After settling in, the rest of the day is free for you to explore the vibrant city centre with its abundance of museums, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. If you're interested in checking out Icelandic design or experiencing the city's thriving coffee culture, head to the main street, Laugavegur, and enjoy its various shops and cosy cafes.

Spend the next three nights in Reykjavik.

    Highlights
  • Day 2: Blue Lagoon and Northern Lights

Spend the early part of your day in the soothing mineral waters of the Blue lagoon, a geothermal spa surrounded by a stunning lava field on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Here, you will be treated to a 30-minute in-water massage by a Blue Lagoon therapist. Afterwards, enjoy the lagoon, sauna and steam rooms as you wish before heading back to Reykjavik, where you can spend the afternoon at your leisure.

After an early dinner, you will be picked up at your hotel for a super-jeep adventure into the countryside, where you will hopefully have a chance to experience winter's most magical phenomenon--the northern lights. Your expert guide will take you into the mountains, far from the glare of city lights.*

*Please note that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

    Highlights
  • Day 3: Geysir, Gullfoss & Glacier Adventure

Start the day with a guided super-jeep tour of the Golden Circle, a popular tourist route that contains some of the country’s most famous attractions. The first stop is Þingvellir National Park, the site of Iceland’s ancient assembly grounds and the continental rift valley. Next is a visit to the spouting geysers and seething vents at Geysir in the Haukadalur geothermal area and then a stop for pictures at the Gullfoss waterfall. It goes by the name the „Golden Waterfall“ and carries the meltwaters of the Langjökull glacier, which is our next destination.

After a brief visit to the old volcanic crater of Kerið, the last stop of the tour is Langjökull, Europe’s second largest glacier, where you will get to experience the thrill of a one-hour guided snowmobiling excursion. The drive up to the snowmobile site on Langjökull, the second largest glacier in Iceland, is an unforgettable experience, offering fascinating glimpses of nature´s majesty. Once on site, you will be kitted out with an insulated all-in-one jump-suit, giant mittens and safety helmet, then given clear and precise instructions for handling these powerful machines. Led by the experienced mountain guide, the snowmobiles shoot off in single file for an hour of often high-speed driving along the carefully chosen route over the glacier. The return journey down from the glacier provides further unmissable photo opportunities on this action-packed day.

On return to Reykjavik, enjoy the rest of the evening as you wish, perhaps with dinner at one of the city's gourmet restaurants.

Northern Lights & Super Jeep Safari, April 2016

Wonderful memory

Our guide made the tour an amazing experience, with his knowlege and general "can do" attitude with everything. During our 4 days in Iceland we experienced Glaciers, Snowmobiling, Waterfalls, Geysirs, Volcanos, Seaside, Off-Road and much much more. We also visited "The Pearl" which was a wonderful experience. Thank you to everyone who made our holiday such a wonderful memory.

Whole family smiling

Super jeep was good and our driver was very friendly and informative. He had everyone laughing and screaming crossing rivers and driving off road. But most memorable moment was the snow mobile on the glacier. The instructors where first class from start to finish. All the family came back with such big smiles on their faces. Nordic staff where very helpful and always available to answer questions no matter how trivial. Thank you for organising such a amazing holiday that will stay in our memories for a lifetime.

Northern Lights & Super Jeep Safari, February 2015

Rather last minute planning but not a hiccup

My adult son and I decided to go on a rather last minute trip to Iceland. An internet search led me, amongst others, to Nordic Visitor and was reassured to see they had achieved a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2014 which was an incentive to feel confident in the quality of the trip and ultimately was the Company I chose to go with.
I booked a four day, three night Northern Lights, Super Jeep Safari for myself and my son which we took in early February. We chose Quality over Comfort for our hotel and were not disappointed as Hotel Borg was just superb as well as being centrally situated and therefore everything was on our doorstep in downtown Reykjavik. Guðrún Eiríksdóttir was our contact in the office at Nordic Visitor and bearing in mind the short notice, she organised our accommodation, tours and all the paperwork without a hitch. She was super efficient as was always good in communicating via email so I always knew what was what. Again, very reassuring!
From the moment we arrived and got in the waiting taxi at the airport until the end of the holiday when we were collected at the Hotel Borg to be delivered back to the airport, the holiday was one to remember. In such a beautiful country, with fast changing weather, excellent people, fun and interesting places to go to, fabulous knowledgeable guides on the tours (particularly Halldron of Amazing Tours who was brilliant) and delicious food, I shall not forget these few days.
