Highlights A selection of the many incredible things you can see while in Iceland.

Itinerary

A day-by-day plan to guide your journey.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Iceland & Optional Golf Round

On arrival at Keflavik International Airport, you will be met by a driver and transferred by car to your accommodation in Reykjavík. If you want to hit the greens right away, you have the option of playing a round of golf at Leiran Golf Course before heading to Reykjavik. Otherwise, the rest of the day is free for you to explore the Reykjavík city centre and enjoy dining out at one of its excellent restaurants.

    Spend the night in Reykjavík.

    Highlights
  • Day 2: Golf with Lava Landscapes & Ocean Views

After collecting your rental car in the morning, head to the Keilir golf course, only a ten-minute drive from Reykjavik. Located right on the ocean and built into a lava field, this is one of Iceland’s most spectacular and unique courses. Here you can choose from an 18-hole championship course (par 71) or a 9-hole practice course and enjoy the beautiful clubhouse that offers views all the way across the bay to the Snaefellsjökull glacier.

Afterwards, you can take in the sights of the Reykjavik area or take part in an optional activity, like a whale watching tour from the Reykjavík harbour.

    Spend another night in Reykjavík.

Driving distance approx. 90 km / 56 mi.

    Highlights
  • Day 3: The Golden Circle Route & Afternoon Golf

Take in some of the best known attractions in southern Iceland today with a drive around the “Golden Circle” route. Sights along your journey include the UNESCO-listed Þingvellir National Park—a place of great historical and geological significance, the Haukadalur geothermal area—home of many hot springs and the original geyser, Geysir, and the two-tiered Gullfoss waterfall.

Then you will drive south towards the area of your overnight accommodation and stop for a round of afternoon golf at the 9-hole (par 70) Kiðjaberg golf course.

Spend the night in the Selfoss/Hekla area.

Driving distance approx. 250 km / 155 mi.

  • Day 4: Golf on Reykjanes Peninsula & the Blue lagoon

Start your day by exploring the volcanic Reykjanes Peninsula, where you can visit the geologically active Lake Kleifarvatn area and the colourful Seltún (Krýsuvík) area with its boiling mud-pots. Then it’s time for a round at the Leiran golf course, known for its challenging hole, Bergvíkin.

For the perfect way to relax after swinging clubs, head to the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa renowned for its soothing mineral-rich waters. Here you can relax outside in the lagoon surrounded by lava formations or enjoy the saunas, steam room, lagoon bar, indoor cafes and more. (Optional in-water massages and other treatments available; best booked well in advance.)

Later, return the rental car in Reykjavik, where you will spend the night.

Driving distance approx. 260 km / 161 mi.

Note: if you opt to play at Leiran on your arrival day, you may instead wish to play today at Grindavík, where you can “golf between continents”. Contact us for details.

  • Day 5: Departure

If your flight is in the afternoon, you can play one more round at one of Iceland’s top golf courses, such as the new 9-hole Brautarholt course just outside Reykjavik. Or use your remaining free time for some last-minute souvenir shopping in the city centre before your pick-up by a driver and transfer to Keflavik Airport.

Note: we are happy to recommend other golf courses if you wish to play additional rounds or add extra nights to this package on request.

Fantastic

We spent 17 days travelling around Iceland in September & used Nordic Visitor to arrange our itinerary including accommodation & car hire. It was without doubt the most well planned trip with lots of information, GPS, mobile for local use. Alexandra was our agent & she did an amazing job so that our holiday went very smoothly. I wouldn't hesitate to use Nordic Visitor again & can't recommend them highly enough.

Iceland Wonderland

My grown daughters and I set up a 12 day South Island Tour with Kristin of Nordic Visitor. She was very accommodating. We added a couple of days and requested specific hotels. The trip was very successful. Our expectations were more than met. Kristin worked with us continuously during the planning and execution phases. She answered emails immediately. Her knowledge about places to see during our journey was amazing, even where to find remote Hot Pots. She and her staff helped make our trip very enjoyable.
