  • Day 1: Welcome to Reykjavik

    On arrival to Keflavik Airport, you will be met by a driver and transferred to your accommodation in the capital city. After settling in, use the rest of the day to explore Reykjavik at your leisure. In the colourful, compact downtown you‘ll find a variety of little shops, cafes and museums to entertain visitors of all ages, most of which are within easy walking distance of each other. The city centre also has plenty of restaurants with menus to suit all tastes, from pizza, pasta and burgers to seafood, steaks and international dishes..

    Tonight you will have the option to join a guided northern lights tour, away from the glare of the city lights for optimal viewing conditions (optional; can be added on request).

    Spend the next three nights in Reykjavik.

  • Day 2: Whales & Warm Winter Bathing

    Join a whale watching tour from Reykjavik’s old harbour. As you sail through the beautiful Faxaflói Bay, you have a chance to see Minke, Humpback, Fin and Blue Whales in their natural habitat. After the tour, we recommend lunch at one of the city centre’s lively cafés, such as Laundromat Café, followed by a short walk over to the Harpa concert hall, where you can explore the cutting edge interior and the adjoining pier (optional guided tours available).

    If your family is up for more activities, head to the Laugardalur part of town, where you can enjoy one of the best swimming complexes in Reykjavik, Laugardalslaug. The water is heated, so swimmers can enjoy its outdoor facilities year-round, including a large pool, a smaller kiddie pool, hot tubs, a steam bath and a twisting waterslide.

  • Day 3: Golden Circle in its Winter Glory

    Start the day with a private guided 4x4 jeep tour to some of the best-known natural wonders in Iceland on the popular “Golden Circle” route. Sights include Þingvellir National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can walk in the rift valley between continents, the roaring Gullfoss waterfall, the Kerið volcanic crater and the spouting hot springs of the Geysir geothermal area. At Geysir, we recommend a visit to the multimedia show to virtually experience an ice cave and the northern lights (optional, not included).

    Back in Reykjavik, enjoy dinner at one of the city’s family-friendly restaurants.

  • Day 4: Lasting Memories at the Blue Lagoon

    For your last Icelandic adventure of this trip, a driver will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the famous Blue Lagoon on your way to Keflavik Airport. This bright blue geothermal pool surrounded by a lava field is an extraordinary experience—especially in wintertime with all the rising steam! Here you can enjoy the complementary silica mud masks—a fun family photo opportunity—as well as the steam baths, saunas and indoor café.

    After a relaxing soak, the driver will then take you the short distance to the airport in time for your check-in.

We don’t like to brag, so we’ll let our happy customers do it for us.

Brilliant family adventure

Our four-day trip was a non-stop adventure. Nordic Visitor, whom I would highly recommend, put together a bespoke itinerary for us based on our requests. Our consultant, Gudrun, was enormously helpful, especially when we requested an itinerary change with only about 24 hours notice, which she dealt with very efficiently and professionally. The itinerary included a Northern Lights tour, whale-watching and a visit to the Blue Lagoon but the highlight was the Golden Circle full-day tour. My husband and I had done it a few years previously and wanted our three boys (now aged 8, 10 and 11) to experience it as it is a great introduction to this amazing country. Although we had seen most of it before, it felt like a whole new (and better) experience in our own super-jeep with our brilliant driver/guide, Sarah, who entertained us all with stories of Iceland's trolls, buried treasure and Viking history. The boys were amazed (more than we had expected, to be honest) by the stunning scenery, thrilled by the off-road driving and impressively explosive geysir, and totally delighted to be able to let off steam in a snowball fight on a real glacier! We have come home with fantastic memories and cannot recommend this beautiful country enough, even though we only really scratched the surface of all it has to offer.

Outstanding and Knowledgeable

It was a last minute decision to visit Iceland especially when the volcano eruption was in the horizon. Jelena, our trip advisor was very patient and considerate. I would strongly recommend Nordic Visitor due to the following:
1- Fast response and friendly staff;
2- Knowledgeable;
3- The tour package was very comprehensive beyond expectation and flexible;
4- Every single detail was included and activities were carefully selected;
5- The accommodation location and comfort level was great.
We received the itinerary 2 days before we traveled to Iceland and once we reached everything was in order. No through study was required and we didn't miss anything.

Sleep soundly, in the accommodation type of your choice, and wake up ready to enjoy another day of exploration.
