  • Day 1: Welcome to Reykjavík

Upon arrival to Keflavik Airport, you are greeted by a driver who will take you to your accommodation in Reykjavík. After settling in, spend the rest of the day exploring the capital area’s attractions, including museums, naturally-heated pools and spas, Icelandic design shops, scenic surroundings, and much more. You also have your pick of superb restaurants and cafés in downtown Reykjavik along with a variety of bars and nightclubs if you wish to take part in the legendary Reykjavík nightlife. Spend the next six nights at a comfortable hotel or guesthouse in the heart of the city.

  • Day 2: Wonders of the Golden Circle

Visit some of Iceland’s most famous attractions with a personal guided small group tour (max: 19 people) of the classic Golden Circle route in south Iceland. One of the many highlights is a visit to Þingvellir National Park, an area of great historical and geological significance that is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Other attractions include the roaring two-tiered Gullfoss waterfall and the geothermal area surrounding Geysir and Strokkur, which erupts with steam every few minutes. A taste of Icelandic food and drink is included on the tour. During the return to Reykjavik, you will get a chance to see and photograph the beautiful waterfall Faxi.

  • Day 3: Glacial Wonders – snowmobiling & glacier lagoon

From Reykjavik‘s domestic airport, you will fly east to Höfn, a placid harbour town near the massive Vatnajökull glacier. From there, a coach will drive you to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, where white and blue icebergs calved from the glacier float along the crystal clear water. Here, you will embark on an exciting excursion by boat, zig-zagging between jagged icebergs with possible sightings of seals in the lagoon. Your next stop is to the base of Vatnajökull for a thrilling guided 1-hour snowmobile tour on the glacier (2 per snowmobile). Surrounded by pristine snow and ice as far as the eye can see, you will be struck by the immensity of the glacier and the beauty of the natural surroundings. After the tour, you will return to the airport in Höfn for your flight back to Reykjavik.

  • Day 4: Lake Mývatn - lunar landscapes & geothermal waters

The day begins with a short flight to Akureyri for a day of sightseeing along the lush Lake Mývatn surroundings. From Akureyri, you will make a stop at the enormous twin waterfalls of Goðafoss before continuing to the Lake Mývatn area, where lunar landscapes and unique geology await. Next up is the Skútustaðagígar pseudo craters and the jagged Dimmuborgir lava pillars and rock formations which are important in folklore, sagas and tales. The warm underground river in the Grjótagjá rift is a sight to behold before visiting the steaming Hverarönd geothermal area, famous for its bubbling mud pots. Next is a visit to the explosion crater Víti, which was formed in 1724 in the Mývatnseldar volcanic eruption. From there, you will enjoy the view over Leirhnjúkur volcano, taking in the vast region and photographing the surroundings. In the last stop of the tour, you will visit the Mývatn Nature Baths to enjoy a relaxing soak in the milky blue mineral-rich geothermal water, situated in the middle of lava fields with great view over Lake Mývatn. After a soothing soak, you will head back to the airport to return to Reykjavik.

Downtown Reykjavík offers a wide range of attractions, including Alþingi, the Icelandic Parliament, or the bird’s-eye views from the tower at Hallgrímskirkja church, the city’s most visible landmark. You may also be interested in a hike in Reykjavik’s natural surroundings, such as Grótta in Seltjarnarnes, the lush Laugardalur valley, or the peaceful forested area of Öskjuhlíðin near Perlan (“The Pearl”). • Day 6: Westfjords – Dynjandi waterfall & impressive fjords

Fly to the impressive and remote Westfjords where you will explore one of Iceland´s most beautiful waterfalls, Dynjandi, which is tiered and resembles a bridal veil. It is recommended to hike up the waterfall to get the best photo opportunity just below the waterfall. The Westfjords are known for its rich history and numerous sagas that took place in the region, as well as stunning nature. There are majestic sweeping fjords, endless coastline, steep cliffs and breathtaking ocean views. During the journey you will pass through vast fjords like Önundarfjörður, Dýrafjörður and Arnarförður offering lush scenery and mountain views. Along the way, you will visit the golden sand beach of Holt and the charming fishing village of Þingeyri, known as the viking village. You will also have some free time to explore lovely Ísafjörður on your own before boarding the flight back to Reykjavik. We recommend visiting the Westfjords Heritage Museum in Ísafjörður where a cluster of historic wooden buildings are situated by the harbour. Next to it is the charming Tjöruhúsið restaurant, known for offering the best seafood around. Other delicacies can be found in Gamla Bakaríið, which offers a full range of sweet treats and freshly baked bread.

  • Day 7: Experience the Blue Lagoon & departure

No trip to Iceland is complete without a trip to the Blue Lagoon! Before your departure today, you will be driven to this famous natural geothermal spa, renowned for the reputed healing powers of its milky blue, mineral-rich waters. Let your cares slip away as you unwind in the saunas and steam baths or soak in the soothing heated water of the lagoon, ensuring that you are fully rejuvenated in time for your afternoon check-in at Keflavik International Airport. *

*Note: If your flight is in the morning, we will modify your travel itinerary accordingly so that you get a chance to enjoy the Blue Lagoon on another day.

Iceland four corners

This review comes a little late but then better late than never. Last year we booked the four corners tour of Iceland with nordic visitor. Our trip from day one was very well planned and organised. Iceland is a beautiful country no doubt but with the services of Nordic visitor it became an unforgetable experience. Here i want to specially thank HELMUR for the promptness in resolving any issues and taking care of all our needs as we were travelling with small children aged 4 and 11. Must acknowledge and thanks HJULTI who went out of his way to show the best face of Nordic Visitor team. Wish them all the best.

Iceland 2013

I used Nordic Visitor for a trip to Iceland in 2013 for my 10 year old son and I. I knew what I wanted to see and experience on our trip. Nordic Visitor took my list and created a wonderful customized itinerary. Everything was perfect and all arrangements were flawless. I was pleasantly surprised! If you are going to Iceland, I highly recommend working with this group. They are professional, polite, timely and know Iceland!
