The best time to see the northern lights in Iceland is during the winter, between October and April. That’s because, at this time of year, the nights are dark enough to see them dancing in the skies above.

For the best chance of viewing the lights, visit secluded areas away from the light pollution of the towns and cities, as darker conditions make it easier to spot them.
