Visit the volcanic mountain Keilir
Mount Keilir is a hyaloclastite mountain situated on the Reykjanes peninsula near the town of Hafnarfjörður. It's a small volcanic mountain that scientists believe to be the plug of a large crater.
Keilir is popular among hikers, as it is a relatively easy 2-3 hour hike to the summit, which rewards climbers with a stunning 360° view over the surrounding area.
Keilir is visible from Reykjavík, appearing like a pyramid in the distance, and it is one of the first sights greeting those landing at Keflavík International Airport.
