One of the country's most stunning waterfalls
The impressive Dynjandi waterfall is located at the base of the Arnarfjörður fjord. Often likened to a bridal veil, the falls are 30 metres wide at the highest point and 60 metres wide at its lowest point. They stand 100 metres tall.
Dynjandi is the largest waterfall in the West Fjords and visiting the chute makes for a beautiful little hike. From a parking area on route 60, it is a 15 minute hike up to the base of the waterfall and along the way you’ll pass 6 other exquisite smaller falls… so bank on spending more time along the hiking route for photo stops and to enjoy the surroundings.
