Reykjavik’s largest swimming pool.
The city of Reykjavik has many public thermal pools scattered throughout its neighbourhoods and suburbs, each with its own look and feel. The largest and most popular of these is Laugardalslaug, located just a few kilometres east of the city centre in the Laugardalur neighbourhood.
This is great places to bring kids, as the swimming complex includes an expansive outdoor thermal pool (popular even in winter) with an 86m twisting water slide, a shallow kiddie pool, steam baths and various hot tubs. After swimming, you can grab a snack at the hot dog stand outside or—on a nice day—take walk through the nearby park and botanical garden or visit the family zoo.
