We recommend that all our travellers read through the following information about what our luxury tours include, how we can customise them to your wishes, what to expect for your visit, types of hotels and rooms along with useful information about the activities that are included.
ABOUT OUR LUXURY TOURS
Let us help you make this the tour of your dreams, according to your specific needs and interests. This itinerary is an example of what we offer luxury clients, but packages can be customised with extra nights, optional activities and other changes to the itinerary. Please contact us for details. All accommodation and planned activities (as specified in the itinerary) will be pre-booked by Nordic Visitor.
KEFLAVIK VIP AIRPORT TRANSFERS
You will be picked up at Keflavik International Airport for a private VIP transfer, by a driver other than the guide you will be travelling with on the tour. A driver will greet you at the airport, holding a sign with your name. You will be transported directly to your hotel.
ACCOMMODATION
This itinerary is based on specific accommodations. Please note that if they are not available upon booking, we will inform you what options are available and book a similar hotel. We would be happy to upgrade your stay to larger rooms or suites and if you have specific hotels in mind, feel free to contact us about it and we would be happy to reserve that for you (prices can change due to that).
PRIVATE TOURS
Your driver-guide will start the day usually early, around 9:00, or later if you prefer and the duration of each day’s agenda is between 8-9 hours with many stops and sights along the way. If you have a preference for the agenda, kindly let your guide know and he or she will see if the itinerary can be adjusted. The time spent at each spot will be based on your interests, but the guide will of course go by the original itinerary and have the local expertise on what they recommend doing each day.
KALDIDALUR
The Kaldidalur is a highland route that is typically open from the first week of June, depending on weather and road conditions. Travellers arriving earlier, will most likely have to take another road with their guide. The driver, will of course, make stops at scenic sites, regardless of the road taken.
THE RETREAT AT THE BLUE LAGOON
The Retreat at the Blue Lagoon offers entry to the Retreat Spa and the Blue Lagoon. Guests will have access to the Blue Lagoon Ritual, as well as skin care amenities and the original Blue Lagoon. The hallmark of the luxury experience, The Ritual, is based on the healing powers of the Blue Lagoon’s three natural wonders: silica, algae, and minerals. In a spacious sanctuary of three interconnected chambers, you cover your body with Icelandic geothermal seawater.
Please note that we cannot guarantee the accommodation at the Blue Lagoon Retreat to be available when you book so we might need to adjust your itinerary due to limited availability at the Retreat or offer you a different option if it is fully booked for your travel dates.
MIDNIGHT SUN, DAYLIGHT HOURS & WEATHER CONDITIONS
Please be advised that while long, bright nights last for around 3 months of the summer season, the midnight sun occurs in Reykjavik between 16-29 of June when the sun sets after midnight. For more information on weather conditions and daylight hours, we recommend visiting our extensive Online Travel Guide.
