SUMMER TOURS IN ICELAND
Summer is the most popular time to visit Iceland… and for good reason! With the effects of the midnight sun, a summer vacation in Iceland gives you extra-long daylight for driving, sightseeing, hiking and countless other activities such as whale watching, bird watching, horse riding and more.
You can take more time to enjoy Iceland's top highlights, including waterfalls, glaciers, iceberg lagoons, hot springs, lava beaches, geothermal baths and other picture-perfect sights. Summer is also the best time to visit Iceland if you want to explore the remote, beautiful West Fjords or take a day tour into the uninhabited volcanic highlands.
Though many of Iceland's famous attractions can be visited during a short 3- to 5-day holiday in Reykjavik, summer is the best time to get out and explore the countryside—either on your own or with a guide—on a tour lasting 7 days or longer. To drive around Iceland’s Ring Road in summer at a relaxed pace, we recommend at least 10 days.
Want to see the northern lights in Iceland? Dark nights are required for viewing this natural phenomenon, so a winter tour between October and April is best for a chance of sightings.
